  Taj Maldives Voted World's Second Best Hotel Mumbai: The Taj Exotica Resort and Spa in the Maldives has been rated the second best among 100 hotels in the world by a US survey, an official said here Tuesday.

The Taj Exotica is one of six hotels across the globe run by the Mumbai-based Taj Group that have bagged honours in various categories of the Conde Nast Traveller (CNT) USA Readers Choice Awards.
The Taj Exotica also bagged the top honour in the best 15 resorts in Asia.
A world-renowned resort and spa, the Taj Exotica is situated along a pristine beach and serene lagoon, mirroring the Maldives’ natural beauty and offers the finest in contemporary luxuries and services.
Considered among the world’s finest luxury hotels, The Pierre, another Taj Hotel, ranked 12 in the Top 25 hotels in New York City.
On the domestic front, Jaipur’s landmarks – the Taj Lake Palace Hotel and Rambagh Palace Hotel – stood third and fourth, respectively, while New Delhi’s Taj Palace Hotel and Mumbai’s iconic Taj Mahal Palace bagged the eighth and ninth positions, respectively, among the top 10 hotels in India.
The Taj Group was awarded for its efforts towards responsible tourism and commitment to sustaining livelihoods in the places where it operates, the official said.
A record 46,476 readers took part in this year’s 25th Annual Readers’ Choice Awards of the CNT.
Besides, the Taj Group of Hotels has also been the recipient of the Global Vision Awards under the Leadership category by Travel + Leisure magazine 2012 Global Vision Awards.
Established in 1901 by the Tata Group, the Taj Hotels, Resorts & Palaces is one of Asia’s largest and finest groups, comprising 99 hotels in 56 locations across India with an additional 16 international hotels in the Maldives, Malaysia, Australia, the UK, the US, Bhutan, Sri Lanka, Africa and the Middle East.
