Miss Bokhari is a beautiful human being. She has a good mix of intellect and beauty. It is so nice to see young women from our community taking charge and playing a lead role in changing the world for the better.

I think what this woman has done is really fascinating and creative. She is using an untapped arena to bring awareness to her causes, which is what we need. She is brave and very smart. She is challenging us to think outside the box and push ourselves to grow as individuals. I am so inspired by her, she has the courage to live an authentic life, and I think she is reaching the highest levels of self-actualization. It is very hard to find people in the Pakistani community that I can truly say this about, especially women.
I think part of the problem with our people is that they are so stuck in survival mode, very low on the needs scale, driven only by their basic hunger demands, that any one who is living a life of authenticity or a soul that is fulfilled, is something beyond their comprehension. I fully agree with the crabs in the bucket syndrome, too many in our community world wide have that.
I am so happy to read all of the supportive and positive comments on here, because our comments about Ms Bokhari also reflect on us as a community. If we don't support our own women then how the hell do we expect the world to, and how the hell do we expect to attain the world's respect? There are enough problems in our community, stories of honour kilings, poverty, suicide bombings, the list goes on. So I think coming down on someone like Ms Bokhari (simply because she dresses elegantly or because she is putting women first which we are not used to )means that we truly have our priorities mixed up.

I am absolutely blown away by Ms. Bokhari. She has so much passsion and commitment to the issues. It is rare that you meet such a person, nevermind a Pakistani Muslim woman. She is very much a global leader because she can work with all kinds of people. She has run cancer forums in the Chinese community, worked on youth initiatives in the Black community, promoted health awareness in the South Asian community, and has worked with all kinds of faith groups. She really is a living example of leadership in diversity.

Hi Debashis, I really like your point, look my wife is a family doctor from Cuba since 1999, she is working in Colombia as a doctor and me as international trades professional, we are doing pretty good but we just have a lil baby girl (18 mths). As you might know Colombia is not that safe specially for children future, for that we are planning to move to Canada ( Prince Edwards Island due to the medical shortage we think it could be eseaier for her to practice as doctor). But to tell you the truth visiting this blogs I am getting worried about going to Canada cause I don't see my wife working in other thing. We already talked to many people in PEI they all said this a medical shortage and it could well be good for us. Debashis could you please give us an advise since you know more about the subject.

Regards
