Arts, Dance And Culture Mark Kerala’s 54th Birthday

The 54th birthday celebrations to mark the statehood of Kerala in India way back on November 1, 1956 was hosted by the Mississauga Kerala Association at the Port Secondary School in Mississauga beginning 6 pm on Saturday 30th October.

The celebration  was marked with cultural programmes highlighting Kerala’s art and culture featuring some of the best performers from all the member bodies. The Malayalee Engineering Graduates Association (MEGA) presented a skit.

President Thomas Chacko of Mississauga Kerala Association greeted the audience and handed over the flag to Kurien Prakkanam – president of the Brampton Malayalee Samajan who would be hosting the event in 2011.

Kerala Piravi is the non-profit umbrella organization formed by several cultural organizations of Kerala origin like the Toronto Malayalee Samajan, Hamilton Malayalee Samajan, Brampton Malayalee Samajan, Niagara Malayalee Association and the Mississauga Kerala AssociationArts, Dance And Culture Mark Kerala's 54th Birthday
