Gosal Thrilled At Canada Hosting Women’s World Cup

Ottawa: Of course, it’s not the Messy and Rooney gang that will be visiting Canada in a few years time. But their female versions. Six cities in Canada are set to host the 2015 FIFA women’s world cup. Minister of State For Sports, Bal Gosal, is happy to be at the opportunity, especially since his government has to play a financial role in the outcome. He said, “As the single largest contributor to sport in this country, our government is proud of Canada’s reputation as a top sporting nation, and we are pleased to be a key supporter in the hosting of this prestigious event.”

“The Women’s World Cup will provide Canadians with the opportunity to witness world-class soccer action right in their own backyards. We recognize that interest in the great sport of soccer is increasing at a rapid pace, and that awareness and pride of our national teams is at an all-time high.

“On behalf of the Government of Canada, I applaud the Canadian Soccer Association on its efforts to bring the 2015 FIFA Women’s World Cup to Canada. As well, I congratulate the cities of Moncton, Montréal, Ottawa, Winnipeg, Edmonton, and Vancouver, who will be hosting this event and showcasing our great nation to the world.”
