India’s Premier Software Association To Send Delegation To Canada
Toronto: For the first time ever, India’s National Association of Software and Services Companies (NASSCOM) is bringing a delegation to Canada. This landmark visit follows last year’s launch of NASSCOM’s Canada Chapter and represents India’s recognition of Canada as an increasingly important investment destination for the Indian Information Technology and Business Process Outsourcing (BPO) industry.
The NASSCOM delegation is led by Som Mittal, President, NASSCOM and also includes around 15 Indian companies. The delegation will also participate at the World Congress on Information Technology (WCIT) in Montreal on Oct. 22-24.
NASSCOM is India’s trade association for the IT and BPO industries and is the global advocate for over 1200 members, including 250 international companies.
Partnering with industry and government, NASSCOM has been increasingly working with its member companies to build stronger and deeper relationships with overseas clients, governments and partner organizations and to collaborate on issues related to international policy, visa/work permits and business partnerships.
“As Indian companies expand globally, with the largest organizations becoming significant players in the international marketplace and in the countries where they are present, in many ways India has ceased to be a competitor and has instead, emerged as an enabler for industry growth in other nations. With many Canadian members, NASSCOM’s engagement in Canada offers the Canadian industry a gateway into important global markets and supply chains.” says Rana Sarkar, President & CEO, The Canada-India Business Council.
