NED Alumni Celebrate Sixth Anniversary
Toronto: NED Alumni Association Canada (NEDAC) celebrated sixth year of its founding by organizing an impressive function which included a lavish dinner and an entertaining musical program. More than 650 members, their families, friends and distinguished guests attended this event in the beautifully decorated Woodbine Convention Centre in Toronto.
Mr. Denis Dixon, President of Professional Engineers Ontario was the Chief Guest while H.E. Imran Ali Chaudhary, Consul General of Pakistan and Dr. Munir Hasan, former Vice Chancellor of NED University of Engineering and Technology, Karachi Pakistan were the honoured guests.
The program started with the recitation from Holy Quran. National Anthems of Canada and Pakistan were sung.
The NEDAC President, Mr. Ismat Kamal welcomed the guests of honour and said that with the total membership of 409 persons, NEDAC was the largest NED Alumni Association in North America. It has provided free technical seminars, skill upgrading workshops and assistance in obtaining the professional engineer’s licenses, job searches and job placement. He praised the Social Secretary, Arif Ali Syed and his team for organizing a highly successful program.
Dr. Munir Hasan spoke about NED Engineering University and his role in making it a great institution of Pakistan. H.E. Imran Chaudhary lauded the services of NEDAC to Engineers of Pakistani origin settled in Canada. He informed the audience about the new location of the Pakistani consulate in Toronto and the services being provided by the Consulate,
The Chief Guest, Mr. Dixon expressed his pleasure in participating in the NEDAC event. He spoke about the PEO and its role in regulating engineering profession in Ontario. He praised NEDAC for assisting Pakistani Engineers in obtaining PEO Licenses. Mr. Rasool Ahmed Kaleemi was the Master of the Ceremony in the first part. He skillfully conducted the program.
