Shabana Azmi Play Coming To Brampton’s Rose Theatre
Brampton:The Rose Theatre Brampton will present Girish Karnad’s Broken Images on Sunday, October 21 at 7pm as part of the 2012-2013 Season. This inspired work, starring Shabana Azmi, is a seductive psychological thriller that has quickly garnered critical acclaim from media and the theatre-going public since its opening in 2010 at the TATA Theatre in Mumbai, India. Following successful touring through the U.S. last year, the performance at The Rose is the Canadian debut.

Shabana Azmi is an international, award-winning cine-actress and human rights activist. Thrilled to be performing in the GTA, Azmi, who essays two pivotal roles in Broken Images, shares her insight on the play:
“Stage is one platform that never ceases to surprise audiences. Broken Images is one of my most challenging performances to date. Like most of Karnad’s plays, which are both complex and multi-layered, the play is technically demanding. The stage becomes a conversation between two sisters, one in the real realm and the other in the virtual.”
