Wishmaker Walk On Oct.13

Mississauga: The steadily increasing number of children referred to Children’s Wish leads to a greater need for fundraising activities such as Wishmaker Walk for Wishes. Currently there are 97 pending wishes in the Peel Region.

On October 13, thousands of people will walk together to raise funds to grant the most heartfelt wishes of children living with a life threatening illness. Mississauga will host a Wishmaker Walk for Wishes at Father Kamber Croation Park, 4525 Mississauga Road. Registration begins at 10:00, the walk at 11:00 and the celebration starts at 12:00 pm. The event is a day of family fun which includes activities for participants of all ages.

Wishmaker Walk for Wishes is the largest and single most important fundraising event for The Children’s Wish Foundation of Canada and its success ensures the continued tradition of never refusing an eligible child a wish.  Participants or “Wishmakers” make an important contribution by collecting pledges prior to walk day and walking the route in their area. Participants or “Wishmakers” who raise more than $100 have the opportunity to earn rewards, including a chance to win a trip for four to Florida or a Sun destination, courtesy of Air Transat and Marlin Travel.
