Canada India Foundation, Canada’s premier public policy organization, hosted a unique event on Tuesday, September 26 at the Pearson Convention Centre in Brampton.
The event, titled “Celebrating Inclusiveness and Democracies ” brought together three vibrant democracies i.e. India, Canada and Israel on one platform.
The Consul General of India Mr. Dinesh Bhatia, Consul General of Israel Ms. Galit Baram and Member of Parliament Mr. Ramesh Sangha, who is also the Chair of Canada-India Parliamentary Friendship Group, represented India, Israel and Canada respectively and also delivered remarkable speeches, highlighting the close relationship India enjoys with both Canada and Israel.
MPP Amrit Mangat as well as over 200 business and community leaders participated enthusiastically in this one-of-a-kind event. People were pleasantly surprised to see an Indian Classicial Dance, a traditional Israeli Dance as well as an Indigenous Dance Group, all performing at the same event.
The event, supported by Ontario 150, was a true celebration of Inclusiveness as well as Democracies. National Anthems of all three countries were played, special videos were shown on all three nations and a video on Canada India Foundation’s work over the last 10 years was also displayed.
The Chair of CIF, Ajit Someshwar delivered the welcome speech, while Satish Thakkar gave the closing remarks and thanked everyone for their presence and support. Pankaj Dave, another prominent CIF member was the master of ceremony. National Convener of CIF Anil Shah, who was away to Europe, greeted everyone with a special video message.
The high-quality, free and open to all dinner event gave an excellent opportunity to everyone present to know more about all three democracies and also make new friends.
