Kejriwal Now Takes On Gadkari, Ajit Pawar

Kejriwal Now Takes On Gadkari, Ajit Pawar New Delhi: Turning his attention to Nitin Gadkari, activist-politician Arvind Kejriwal alleged Wednesday that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) president had colluded with NCP’s Ajit Pawar to exploit farmers in Maharashtra’s Vidarbha region.

Asking whether the BJP was an opposition party or acting in concert with the government, Kejriwal said Gadkari was involved in land and irrigation scams in Maharashtra. He asked whether Gadkari’s business instincts clashed with the interests of farmers in Maharashtra. “Gadkari took away land of the farmers and their water… He has sympathy for the contractors but not the farmers,” Kejriwal told a crowded press conference, asking, “Is the BJP an opposition party or does it work in collusion with the ruling party?”
The information against Gadkari, he said, had been obtained through an RTI by his colleague Anjali Damania. He said Gadkari has business interests in construction, agriculture, power and fertiliser.
Kejriwal had earlier targeted Congress president Sonia Gandhi’s son-in-law Robert Vadra over property deals with realty major DLF in Haryana.
Kejriwal is also locked in a verbal duel with Law Minister Salman Khurshid, alleging that a trust headed by his wife Louise Khurshid had embezzled funds meant for the differently abled.
Kejriwal alleged that all political parties were working in collusion with each other and indulging in corruption. “There will be no probe against Vadra, Khurshid or Gadkari… All the political parties are working in collusion with each other and they all indulge in corruption… They are in cahoots, all part of a family and looting the country. That’s why we want to change this corrupt system,” said Kejriwal.
He dared the Congress and BJP to probe the assets of India Against Corruption (IAC) activists. “They (government) alleges that Prashant Bhushan (IAC member) has illegal land… I challenge them to probe our assets,” he said, adding, “Our aim is that we want the people of the country who are too frightened to speak, we want them to prepare people to fight for their rights, and now they are becoming aware of their rights.”
