RICHMOND HILL, ON: With each successive model year, the second-generation Mazda CX-9 midsize crossover has benefited from refinements, technology updates and performance improvements. The 2019 Mazda CX-9 is no different, with a host of improvements led by the addition of factory-equipped Apple CarPlay™ and Android Auto™ infotainment technologies as standard equipment in the 2019 Mazda CX-9.
Mazda’s engineers could have left well enough alone for their award-winning family vehicle but instead continue to make meaningful improvements to benefit drivers and passengers in all three rows. Among the updates are a refined, retuned suspension that offers a smoother, quieter and more natural ride and greater sound suppression by way of a thicker headliner and thicker floor mats, which aid in ease of conversation and enjoyment.
Manufacturer’s Suggested Retail Price does not include $1,895 freight and PDE for all models plus taxes, title or additional fees. Dealers set actual sale prices.
The entry 2019 Mazda CX-9 GS continues to offer strong value, with standard 18-inch alloy wheels, 7-inch MAZDA CONNECT™ infotainment screen with revised Commander control knob, cloth seats, LED headlights and tail lights, heated front side mirrors, one-touch front and rear power windows, rain-sensing windshield wipers, rear privacy glass, three-zone automatic climate control, Bluetooth hands-free phone and audio pairing, keyless entry and push-button start, Smart City Brake Support automatic low-speed emergency braking, and Advanced Blind Spot Monitoring with Rear Cross-Traffic Alert.
The CX-9 GS features standard front-wheel drive, and Mazda’s i-ACTIV AWD predictive all-wheel drive system is available. When equipped with all-wheel drive, the CX-9 GS also includes Mazda’s suite of i-ACTIVSENSE safety technologies.
Upgrading from Mazda CX-9 GS to the CX-9 GS-L model adds 20-inch alloy wheels, power liftgate with programmable height adjustment, power glass moonroof, LED fog lights, leather-trimmed seating surfaces, Mazda Advanced Keyless Entry, heated steering wheel, 10-way power driver’s seat, 4-way power passenger seat, heated second row seats (outboard only), front wiper de-icer, 8-inch MAZDA CONNECT™ infotainment screen, two second-row USB ports (each 2.1 amps), and auto-dimming rearview mirror.
Mazda CX-9 GT builds upon those features and adds a new 360° View Monitor, 7-inch TFT reconfigurable gauge cluster display, and ventilated seats first seen in the 2018 Mazda6 midsize sedan. These new features supplement Mazda CX-9 GT’s standard Traffic Sign Recognition, Adaptive Front-lighting System, front and rear parking sensors, windshield-projected colour Active Driving Display, LED front and rear signature lighting, Bose® premium sound system with 12 speakers, SiriusXM® Satellite Radio, navigation, and new power-folding door mirrors.
New for 2019, CX-9 models equipped with SiriusXM also include a complimentary 5-year subscription to SiriusXM Traffic Plus and Travel Link services.
CX-9 Signature represents the flagship of the range with Signature grille illumination, Chroma Brown Nappa leather seating surfaces, a hand-stitched, leather-wrapped steering wheel, new Santos Rosewood interior trim, frameless rearview mirror with auto-dimming, and LED accent lighting around the shifter area.
