Region of Peel– Investigators from the 21 Division Criminal Investigation Bureau are seeking witnesses for a shooting incident that occurred near a residence in the City of Brampton.
On Monday, July 27, 2020, police received a 911 call at 5:54 a.m., for shots that had been fired outside a residence on Julian Drive in Brampton. Officers arrived on scene and located three adults with gunshot injuries and, a fourth adult was found suffering from injuries that were later determined not to be gunshot related.
A 28-year-old woman and a 26-year-old man were transported to a trauma centre. A 30-year-old man and a 32-year-old man were transported to a local hospital. All injuries were deemed to be non-life threatening.
The investigation has revealed that the residence where the shooting occurred, was an Airbnb rental property that was being used for a large party. Peel Regional Police and the City of Brampton By-Law Enforcement had jointly attended this same property due to noise complaints on both Saturday, July 25, 2020 and Sunday, July 26, 2020. In both cases, Brampton By-law officers laid charges under the Emergency Management and Civil Protection Act and Noise By-law. The illegal social gatherings were dispersed on both occasions.
