Schools across the country are dealing with a new trend among students.
With a tap on a smartphone, a new generation of students are having their lunches delivered right into their hungry hands at school.
Some schools are imposing rules on the use of food delivery apps.
Others are banning the services all together.
James Johnston is the principal at Semiahmoo (sem-EE’-ah-MOO’) Secondary School in Surrey, B-C.
He says about five to ten lunches were being delivered to the school office each day, and drivers were showing up at different times and walking through the building.
The school now requires students to pick up deliveries off school property and not during class time.
Balmoral Drive Senior Public School in Brampton, Ontario requires lunches be prepaid before they are delivered to the school.
Principal Raza Husain says the school wanted to get ahead of the delivery trend before it caused a problem.
