Brian Banks’ film hopes to spark change in U.S. legal system


After spending more than five years in prison for a sexual assault crime he didn’t commit, Brian Banks hopes a new film detailing his personal fight for justice will help others.

Brian Banks, exonerated former athlete, says in the video:”I spent five years and two months of a six-year sentence for a crime I didn’t commit. An additional five years on strict custody parole as a registered sex offender, wearing a GPS on my ankle for that entire five years, not being able to live within 2,000 feet within any school or park—all of the unimaginable restrictions and guidelines suitable for a person who actually committed this type of crime, to being exonerated May 24, 2012.
