Canada Is Ranked No: 1 In ‘Quality Of Life’ List

WASHINGTON: Canada has been declared the country with the ‘Best Quality of Life’.

The rankings in the U.S. News and World Report’s 2019 Best Countries Report, has been produced with the BAV Group and the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania.

The ‘Best Countries’ is a rankings, news and analysis project created to capture how countries are perceived on a global scale. The rankings evaluate 80 countries across 24 rankings drawn from a survey of more than 21,000 global citizens, measuring 75 dimensions that have the potential to drive trade, travel and investment and directly affect national economies.Respondents from 36 countries in the Americas, Europe, Middle East, Asia and Africa were polled for the survey.

Thanks to its, Switzerland was named as the ‘Best Country Overall’ because of its international  prestige, economic stability and quality of life.emerged the leader on a new list that ranks the countries with the best reputations around the world. In other categories, Canada was deemed to have the best quality of life and the U.K. best for education.

The attributes were grouped under categories like adventure, citizenship, cultural influence, entrepreneurship, heritage, movers, open for business, power and quality of life – and corruption.

Switzerland took to the top spot for the third year in a row,, scoring in areas of business, quality of life and cultural influence. Dan Hamilton of the John Hopkins School of Advanced International Studies said  in a statement  that “…[Switzerland] carved out a brand internationally, one of quality and impartiality.” “It plays a major mediation role, hosts several UN agencies and is influential culturally.”

Rounding out the top five spots in the overall standings are Japan, Canada, Germany and the U.K.

The report also asked consumers to identify the countries with the best reputation for assorted goods and services, as another measure of brand power.

For cars, healthcare and pharmaceuticals, Germany was electe  the most trustworthy nation, while France was best for cosmetics and fashion. Italy received the best marks for food and wine, and Japan is No. 1 for technology and electronics.

In other categories, Canada was deemed to have the best quality of life and the U.K. best for education

Pakistan Ranked As Second Most Corrupt Country

Pakistan is the second most corrupt country in the world, according to the perception of about 20,000 global citizens surveyed, according to The US News and World Report survey.  Iraq is seen to be the most corrupt in the world, according to 2019 data from the rankings.

Iran places third on the corruption ranking. Mexico, which is plagued by stories of deadly drug cartels, makes an appearance at No. 7, and Myanmar and Guatemala round out the top 10.
