Credit Valley Conservation (CVC) invites landowners to Orangeville TSC, 207311 Hwy 9 E, on Saturday, April 27 from 7 a.m. to 1 p.m. to receive a free tree seedling to plant on their property.
One hundred tree seedlings will be available on a first-come, first-served basis, while quantities last. Visitors can enter a draw to win a prize pack valued at over $130 which includes a bird box, bird feeder, native trees and a solar garden decoration.
“With our location being at the Headwaters of the Credit River, we feel the work CVC is doing in the preservation and restoration of the watershed is important,” said Rob McCoy, Store Manager, Orangeville TSC. “We couldn’t think of a better way to celebrate earth week than partnering with CVC to give our customers trees to plant on their property.”
Since the weather is getting warmer, this is a great time to book your tree planting project with CVC. CVC offers two programs to landowners – one offering tree seedlings and the other offering potted plants. The tree seedling program requires a minimum purchase of 1,500 seedlings and the potted plant program requires a minimum purchase of 100 potted plants. Both programs are available to landowners with two or more acres of property in the Credit River Watershed.
CVC has been planting trees since 1956. Over the past 10 years, CVC planted approximately 900,000 trees through the two programs.
“We’re proud to partner with Orangeville TSC at this special in-store event,” said Rod Krick, Manager, Terrestrial Restoration and Management at CVC. “CVC’s forestry experts will be sharing planting tips and information on subsidized planting programs to help grow forests on your land.”

Credit Valley Conservation (CVC) is a local conservation authority established by the Ontario government in 1954 to protect, restore and enhance the natural environment of the Credit River watershed. That watershed is the area of land defined by where all rainfall, snowmelt and runoff drains into lands and waters flowing into the Credit River. CVC creates connections between people and nature, knowledge and action. It inspires a deep appreciation for the role of nature in keeping people connected, healthy and happy. CVC is a member of Conservation Ontario.
