Grand ‘mushaira’ in Oshawa celebrates women empowement


OSHAWA: The International Grand Multilingual MUSHAIRA, celebrating women Empowerment, as expected was stupendous and memorable.

Ms Sangeeta Gupta visiting Artist and poet, from Delhi( sponsored by ICCR) author of 20 Books and 7 documentary films graced the event as Guest of Honour, Special Guest adorable Artist and Poet Meena Chopra as Special guest, presided by Associate Professor Shahina Kishwer, Chairperson Kishwer Peace Foundation, Vice-chair Hera Foundation USA and president Kishwer and Tony Radio TV Canada.

Six Poetry Collections were released for the interest of east end audience.

1. Be Parwaah Rooh – Sangeeta Gupta.

2. Subh ka Suraj ab mera Nahi hai. Meena Chopra,

3. Mohabbat Akhiri Dukh hai. Shahina Kishwer

4. Begum Nama – Khalid Aziz.

5. Dohey Doha Rang- Prof. Rehman Khawer.

6. Aur wo Chaley Gaye – Sharfuddin Shaikh Sadi.

Sangeeta Gupta, Meena Chopra, Savita Gupta presented Hindi Poems, Darakhshan Siddiqui, Shagufta Siddiqui, Shahina Kishwer presented Urdu poems, Ameera Hameed, Deidre Newman and Uzma Danish presented English poems in the first session.

Ms Shahina Kishwer, brought and presented Trophy and Certificates of Appreciation for Jawaid Danish in Recognition of his Services for Humanity, Peace, Literature and Community from Hera Foundation USA.

After the break, the second session was presided by Prof. Rehman Khawer, Guest of Honor Khalid Aziz and Special guest Tariq Ghazi.

Riaz ul Waris, Mansoor Ghazi,  Bin Ghazi, (USA) Kafil Ahmed, Tariq Ghazi, Khalid Aziz, Jawaid Danish and Rehman Khawer delighted the audience with Urdu poetry.

The Master of Ceremony of this event was Jawaid Danish, celebrated Playwright and Poet.

Uzma Danish lead organizer presented the vote of thanks.
