29/04/2019 – Brampton, Ontario – Ms. Ruby Sahota, Member of Parliament for Brampton North, knows that summer is fast approaching, and many young Canadians are now turning their attention to summer employment.
The Government of Canada’s Canada Summer Jobs program provides young Canadians with meaningful work experience. For many, a Canada Summer Job is their first experience in the workforce and a great opportunity to begin building a resume.
The hiring season has now begun and is open until July 12th.Young Canadians in Brampton can now apply for the over 250+ local employment opportunities that have been made available in the riding of Brampton North.
“Canada’s young people are not just the leaders of tomorrow—they are leaders today. That’s why our government, through CSJ, is focused on ensuring more young Canadians get the skills and experience they need to succeed in our changing economy,” said MP Sahota. “Providing young Canadians with opportunities for paid, meaningful work experience helps to ensure they have a fair chance at success.”
By doubling the number of Canada Summer Job opportunities to over 70,000, the Government is helping more young people get hands-on work experience and save money.
This year all youth between the ages of 15 and 30 who are legally entitled to work in Canada are eligible to apply for positions, not just students. All available positions can be searched on JobBank.gc.ca/youth, and on the JobBank App available on the App Store and Google Play.
