MISSISSAUGA: Until Thursday, September 30, fines for parking and stopping violations will increase to $100 on Mississauga’s local roads, City parks and municipal parking lots south of Lakeshore Road, from the east city limits to Meadow Wood Rd.
Parking violations occurring between 2 to 6 a.m. are exempt from the increased fines. Planning to visit #Mississauga’s waterfront? Consider walking, cycling or taking transit.
Avoid increased fines of $100 for parking & stopping violations on local roads, #Mississauga parks & municipal parking lots south of Lakeshore Road.
The fines have been increased in an effort to reduce traffic congestion and illegal parking in these areas. These can impact neighbourhood safety and access for emergency service vehicles. These areas become busy during the spring and summer months as residents and visitors are drawn to the City’s waterfront parks, trails and amenities.
The City has secured parking agreements with Port Credit Secondary School and Brian J. Fleming Adult Education Centre to provide additional parking in the area. Parking at these locations is free during evenings and weekends throughout the school year and all summer long.
The City said in a statement that it was committed to keeping Mississauga’s waterfront neighbourhoods safe and attractive for residents and visitors to enjoy. People should park only in permitted areas within parks or adjacent neighbourhoods. If the parking lot is full, please consider exploring one of the City’s other 500 parks in Mississauga. Those visiting the area are also encouraged to consider walking, cycling or taking transit.
