TORONTO: The Consulate General of India, Toronto has issued more than 5,000 Life Certificates since October 2020 to the pensioners from BLS Brampton office, its own premises in Toronto (365 Bloor St E #700, Toronto, ON M4W 3L4) and at the Consular Camps organized at various places under its Consular Jurisdiction.
Indian national are asked to please note that the Government of India vide it’s OM No. 18/1/2020-P&PW(H)-VolIII-6786 dated 23 November 2020 has further extended the period for submission of Life Certificate by Central Government pensioners till February 28, 2021.
Applicants who still need their Life Certificate can get it in the following ways:
LIFE CERTIFICATE IN PERSON AT CONSULATE
Life Certificates can also be taken in person from the Consulate for which prior appointment is required to be taken from Consulate by writing at – reception.toronto@mea.gov.in. Applicants will be informed by email of a date and time to visit the Consulate to get the Life Certificate issued.
The documents required are duly filled in the updated application form (click here) in duplicate and a copy of passport. Applicants will be required to bring these documents in person to the Consulate. Life Certificate will be issued on the spot.
LIFE CERTIFICATE BY POSTAL MEANS
The Life Certificate requests may be sent by Post/Courier to the Consulate (365 Bloor St E #700, Toronto, ON M4W 3L4). The applicants can send their application in a sealed envelope, duly filled in application forms (click here) in duplicate along with a copy of the passport, with a self-addressed pre-paid envelope of Canada Post or any courier company to facilitate the return of the serviced document.
For postal applications, applicants are requested to provide a local WhatsApp number so that a video call can be made for verification purposes. Life Certificate will be issued only after verification of the applicant through the video call.
