Brampton: Kamal Khera, MP from Brampton West held an official office opening ceremony recently that was attended by a large number of community members. Also present on the occasion were Navdeep Bains, Minister of Innovation, Science and Economic Development; Sonia Sidhu, MP from Brampton South; Ramesh Sangha, MP from Brampton Centre; Omar Alghabra, MP Mississauga Centre; Gary Anandasangaree, MP Scarborough—Rouge Parkand Maninder Sidhu, Liberal candidate from Brampton East.
Talking to Weekly Voice, Khera said: “The campaign is in full force and I’m very excited. So many people from so many different communities are supporting me which is the strength of Brampton West.
“What we have been able to do in the last four years is whether reducing taxes for the middle class, or ensuring that we move ahead with Canada Child Benefit that is helping nine out of 10 families, whether it is investing in public transit right here in our city, whether it is ensuring that we have electric buses with public transit, or investing in our city when it comes to cyber security innovation hub in association with Ryerson University, which was unfortunately gutted by the Conservative government of Ontario.
Kamal added there are so many things she still wants to do. They have put a plan for the universal pharma care plan to bring down prices of prescription medication and go for bulk buying as Canadians are paying one of the highest costs. She said as a registered nurse she was very much passionate about this subject.
