MIRABEL, Que. _ One of three people who were injured in an explosion in a home north of Montreal early Friday morning has died.
Mirabel police have confirmed the 24-year-old man died in a hospital burn unit on Friday evening.
A police spokesman says it’s unclear what caused the powerful explosion, which happened at about 4 a.m.
Pierre Morel says the house was largely destroyed and several adjacent residences were damaged by fire.
Another man and a woman, both in their 20s, were injured in the blast and there were no new updates on their condition as of Sunday morning.
Morel says it could take several days for police to collect and analyze evidence with the help of provincial police fire and explosives experts.
