Bengalis in North America are gearing up for their largest North American Bengali Conference (NABC) – historically known as Banga Sammelan to be held on US Independence Day weekend – July 2, 3, and 4.
This year’s event is being organized on an immersive virtual reality (VR) platform with as much innovation as possible to make the participants’ experience unique and enjoyable.
Since the conference will be virtual, organizers have made a conscious decision to remove all barriers across the globe, and named it NABC Global: Beyond Borders.
Participations from countries including the USA, Canada, Europe, Australia, the middle east, India, Bangladesh, and other parts of southeast Asia are expected.
There will be captivating musical concerts, drama, dance, and other cultural shows with popular performers from Bengal (West Bengal and Bangladesh) as well as Bollywood along with ample opportunities for trade shows, exhibitions, business networking and investment.
In addition, celebrity talk shows, an education fair, art exhibitions, and a host of other activities will be incorporated. Attendees will be able to virtually network and interact with each other, giving it a true conference feel.
Keeping with tradition, they will be able to shop virtually at a wide collection of digital showrooms and stalls.
While prime time live virtual shows will be attracting most participants, there will be North American performers showcasing their talents. The program continues all day long with a chosen time window for the prime shows.
“While pandemic will most likely restrict us from having a large gathering in July, this is the best avenue to stay connected with like-minded cultural enthusiasts at a very minimal charge,” said a spokesperson.
Kohinoor Kar. Why is this VR Banga Sammelan different from other VR programs? You are able to enjoy every item under one umbrella for 3 days just like the on-site Banga Sammelan.”
“Let’s take NABC Global – Beyond Borders – with the same spirit of the actual Banga Sammelan, albeit digitally! An ultimate Bong Connection on the web,” he added Please visit www.nabcglobal.org for details, follow on IG #nabcglobal or contact info@ nabcglobal.org if you have any questions.
