Toronto: The Nair Social Society of Canada celebrated Onam with a mix of physical and virtual events this year.
The organization, under the guidance of its founder and chairman Sasidharan Nair, has been holding Onam and other Kerala-releated events for the past 20 years in the GTA, without a break.
The cultural program included Bharatanatyam, folk and cinematic dances, a traditional ‘kaikottikali’ performance by women, a Malayalam skit by children, poetry readings and songs.
The program was coordinated by Reshma Binu, Meera Prasanth, Geetanjali Rajeesh, Sujatha Nair and Gayatri R. Nair. Students of the Nupura School of Dance and Music, Varnanjali Natyalaya, Dhwani School of Dance, NKK Dance Academy were at the forefront of the entertainment program.
