Member of Parliament for Brampton South, Sonia Sidhu, announces new job opportunities for young Canadians
Brampton, ON, April 26, 2019 – Young Canadians across Brampton South can now apply for 283 job opportunities which have been made available by the federal government, MP Sonia Sidhu announced today.
In an event held at the Regeneration Outreach Community headquarters in her riding, MP Sidhu made the announcement about this phase of the Canada Summer Jobs program on behalf of Patty Hajdu, the Minister of Employment, Workforce Development and Labour.
The Government’s Canada Summer Jobs program provides young Canadians with meaningful work experience. For many, a Canada Summer Job is their first experience in the workforce and a great opportunity to begin building a resume. By doubling the number of Canada Summer Job opportunities to over 70,000, the Government is helping more young people get hands-on work experience and help community employers and organizations simultaneously.
This year all youth between the ages of 15 and 30 who are legally entitled to work in Canada are eligible to apply for positions, not just students.
For the first time. all available positions can be searched on JobBank.gc.ca/youth, and on the JobBank App. For more information on CSJ, visit the Canada.ca/Canada-summer-jobs, a Service Canada Office or call 1-800-935-5555.
