Brampton: Brampton Library has announced that the submission deadline for its fourth annual Local Authors Showcase has been extended to November 30, 2020.
“Brampton Library values this opportunity to connect local authors with their readers,” says
Brent Wilson, Manager of Collections.
“We launched our Local Authors Showcase initiative in 2017 and since that time we have been proud to feature 218 titles. The variety of submissions over the past four years really reflects the diversity of the Peel Region. In this challenging year, we wanted to ensure that all local authors had some additional time to submit their books for the 2021 Showcase. We don’t want anyone to miss out.”
Authors living in Brampton, Caledon, and Mississauga are invited to submit up to three of their written works if published over the past five years. Participating authors’ books will be listed in the Library’s online catalog for ease of borrowing, featured on its website and included in a physical display at Chinguacousy Branch Library for a full year.
Popular titles may continue to be available after the one-year display concludes.
Authors who are interested in submitting their books online for the 2021 Local Authors Showcase can find full details on Brampton Library’s website.
Books in all languages and genres, in both fiction and nonfiction categories, are eligible, but you must be a Brampton Library cardholder in good standing to participate.
While all Brampton Library Branches remain closed to the public until further notice, Curbside Pickup is available at select locations and returns are accepted 24/7 through our exterior dropboxes at all eight branches.
