Mississauga Mayor Bonnie Crombie on Sunday joined hundreds of Mississaugans for a peace walk organized by the Muslim Council of Peel and the National Council of Canadian Muslims to show solidarity with Muslim Canadians affected by the London tragedy in which four members of a family was attacked and killed by a driver in a pickup.
Mayor Crombie tweeted: “It’s a time to mourn and a time for deep reflection. “It’s also a time for gov’ts & private institutions to take action to build inclusivity in everything we do, which ultimately creates mutual understanding, respect & ultimately challenges existing prejudices. I’m committed to leading this effort at the City of Mississauga.”
