Region of Peel: One of Peel Regional Police’s Police Service Dogs (PSD) passed away on Wednesday, September 1, 2021, while on duty in the Region of Peel.
“With great sadness, we share the news that PSD Dutch tragically passed away of natural causes while on duty,” Peel Police statement said.
Dutch joined the Peel Regional Police Canine Unit in 2017. He and his K9 handler attended 650 calls for service in his short career, making 67 arrests.
Dutch was a four-year veteran of the Peel Regional Police Canine Unit and was five years old when he died. He will be missed and remembered by his friend, handler and partner, Constable Colin Manson, the Manson family and his police family.
“We thank Dutch for his dedicated and loyal service to our community and enriching the lives of those who knew him. Rest easy, Dutch,” Peel Police said. Flags at all Peel Regional Police facilities flew at half-mast in his memory.
