REGION OF PEEL: Peel Residents can Take the pledge to suppress speed within the Region of Peel.
“Set a positive example on our roads and BE THE CHANGE that will create a safer community together,” Peel police said.
To participate in the #TakethePledgePeel 2020 campaign, fill out and submit the form at peelpolice.ca (to receive your own certificate and pledge to SLOW DOWN. Your personal pledge certificate to SLOW DOWN will be sent to your email. A colouring version for kids is also available).
#TakethePledgePeel is a program that is available to citizens who reside or work in the Cities of Mississauga and Brampton (persons who live and work outside the Region of Peel should contact their local Police department).
When crossing intersections, stop before entering the roadway, push the pedestrian button when available & wait for the pedestrian walk signal. Look in all directions before crossing & cross safely when the road is clear.
Peel Police: Road safety is everyone’s responsibility. Peel Regional Police is committed to lowering the number of deaths and injuries on the roads by working with road safety partners.
“We cannot do this alone, we need your help to keep the roads in our region safe,” the police soaid.
“Our objective: Vision Zero. Any injury or death on a Peel Region road is unacceptable.”
“We are working alongside the City of Brampton Fire and Emergency Services, the City of Mississauga, the Peel Regional Paramedics Services and the William Osler Health System to create a campaign working towards our Vision Zero by Taking the Pledge.”
The Take The Pledge campaign will address three concerns:
1. Aggressive Driving
2. Impaired Driving
3. Pedestrian Safety
