PM Justin Trudeau addresses international forum on combatting antisemitism


Prime Minister Justin Trudeau delivers virtual remarks at the concluding plenary session of the Malmo International Forum on Holocaust Remembrance and Combatting Antisemitism, a one-day event hosted by the Swedish government. The prime minister announces that Canada is making its special envoy on preserving Holocaust remembrance and combatting antisemitism a permanent role, and supported by more resources. In November 2020, former justice minister and longtime Liberal MP Irwin Cotler was appointed to the envoy role. Trudeau also highlights the actions his government has taken in fighting antisemitism.
