The South Asian Canadians Health & Social Services- SACHSS organized a FAMILY DAY & MUSICAL EVENT on Sunday, February 14th.
The packed virtual event on the Zoom platform showcased a range of entertainment programs presented by singers and dancers from across the GTA, under the aegis of Jaswinder Singh & Friends, Singh Karaoke and K2B Studio
Dr.Maher Hussain, CEO of SACHSS, said the special event was organized as a tribute to all our front-line heroes. Abu Becker, Presdient and Iqbal Ali, Vice=President of SACHSS also spoke during the event, encouraging the talented artists.
A principal guest at the event was Brampton Mayor Patrick Brown, who spoke about this connection with South Asia – including his numerous trips to India and Pakistan – and hailed the contributions of the South Asian community to the growth of Brampton.
SACHSS is a registered Not for profit charity organization. SACHSS offers culturally and linguistically appropriate services, for South Asian men, women, seniors and youth, and other communities. SACHSS received its Charitable status in 2019.
SACHSS provides programs focused on Health Education, Health Promotion, Mental Health, Addictions, Stress Management, Anger Management and social services along with building a healthy community through the empowerment of community members by helping with health and social programs for promotion of education and poverty elimination.
SACHSS serves clients with treatment and counselling for those mandated by the legal system for issues such as driving under the influence of alcohol/drugs (DUI), violence, domestic violence, anger management, sexual offences etc.
SACHSS runs the PAR (Partner Assault Response) program for domestic violence and undertakes assessments and referrals to rehabilitation centres and intervention services.
