MISSISSAUGA: Mississauga-Malton families joined MPP Deepak Anand On Saturday, February 13th, in celebrating the 3rd Annual Family Day Paint Night.

This free and publicly accessible event is held each year to connect residents of MississaugaMalton with their extended family.

The MPP’s office provided all attendees with a set of paintbrushes, paints, as well as a canvas. This was done through contactless delivery, with the support of our Community Ambassadors.

In addition to the over 90 families who actively participated in the event, the participants were also delighted to welcome Premier Doug Ford, along with Minister Stephen Lecce, Minister Monte McNaughton, Minister Lisa Thomson, and Associate Minister Jill Dunlop.

Premier Ford applauded the families of Mississauga-Malton for always giving back to their community, while reiterating the government’s commitment to protecting families during these tough times.

Premier Ford thanked MPP Anand for connecting families during these tough times, and expressed deep appreciation for his willingness to go the extra mile for the residents of Mississauga-Malton.

This Paint Night iteration was unique compared to previous years in that it was held virtually over Zoom. Attendees were sorted amongst Zoom breakout rooms, and were able to spread cheers and laughter while meeting their neighbours.

“I had a chance to visit each Breakout room and was personally astounded by the high-quality artwork produced by our residents,” said MPP Anand.

“We obviously have a lot of budding talent around us.”

“Best of all, despite being online this year, we increased the participation levels of members of our Mississauga-Malton family,” he concluded. Special shout-out went to local artists Celia Wilson and Viraj Ponkshe, who guided participants with helpful painting tips and expert advice, while encouraging everyone to show off their creativity.

An even bigger shout-out was made to Community Ambassadors: Angie Munnick, Sukhvinder Sharma, Imtiaz Rangrez, Afia Imran, Gulnaz Rehan, Susheel Kalra, and finally Nurguss and Shahid Mughal.

While the paintings could not be hung outside Anand’s office this year, attendees were able to submit their beautiful artwork to MPP Anand after the event.
