Pricing Announced For New Models – With New Features – Which Go On Sale Across Canada This Month
MISSISSAUGA: Subaru Canada, Inc. (SCI) has announced pricing for the 2019 Impreza, Legacy and Outback, all of which go on sale across Canada this August, delivering unmatched levels of value among all-wheel drive vehicles.
2019 Subaru Impreza: Only mainstream compact car with all-wheel drive
The compact Subaru Impreza retains its title as the most affordable all-wheel drive car in Canada, with its starting price of $19,995 unchanged for 2019. With that low MSRP comes a small car that punches well above its weight when it comes to value.
Subaru’s 2019 Impreza continues to offer the passive, active and preventative safety systems that enabled it to be the very first small car to receive the Top Safety Pick+ (TSP+) designation from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) — the highest safety rating possible.
Under the hood lies a direct-injection 2.0-litre SUBARU BOXER 4-cylinder engine that produces 152 horsepower and 145 lb.-ft. of torque, and integrates perfectly with either a 5-speed manual transmission or available Lineartronic continuously variable transmission (CVT).
The Touring trim adds a 6.3-inch multifunction display atop the dash, as well as enhanced gauges and a six-speaker audio system, automatic climate control, heated front seats, a leather-wrapped steering wheel and gear selector, and a windshield wiper de-icer, among many more features. A new 16-inch alloy wheel design has been added for 2019 for an enhanced look.
Unique to the Canadian-exclusive Sport-tech trim is sport suspension tuning, active torque vectoring, a heated steering wheel, leather upholstery, dual-zone automatic climate control, an eight-speaker Harman Kardonaudio system, and infotainment system with navigation and over-the-air map updates.
New for 2019 on the entry-level Convenience trim is the availability of Subaru’s Impreza-exclusive Island Blue Pearl exterior colour, while that finish is also available for the first time for 2019 with an ivory interior on Touring, Sport and Sport-tech trims.
2019 Subaru Legacy: Mid-size Sedan, plus-size value and versatility
The 2019 Legacy sports utility sedan continues as the no-compromises choice of those who are dedicated to versatility, style and capability. The starting price of $24,995 remains unchanged, as does delivering on the promise of all-road/all-weather capability in a mid-size sedan. Legacy continues as the most affordable AWD model in its segment.
Versatility continues to be key in the lineup, as the Legacy can come with either a peppy 2.5-litre SUBARU BOXER 4-cylinder engine, with 175 horsepower and 174 lb-ft of torque, married to a Lineartronic CVT, or a powerful yet economical 3.6-litre SUBARU BOXER 6-cylinder engine, capable of 256 horsepower and 247 lb‑ft of torque, combined with high-torque CVT.
As well as Subaru’s legendary symmetrical full-time all-wheel drive and active torque vectoring, all trims come equipped with 10‑way power-adjustable driver’s seat with power lumbar support, cruise control and heated front seats. Subaru’s infotainment system, with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, has been upgraded to the latest version, while a CD player and satellite radio (subscription required) have been added to the standard 6.5-inch infotainment system for 2019.
The optional EyeSight package, available on the Touring and standard on the Sport, Limited and 3.6R trims, includes EyeSight’s full suite of preventative collision systems, as well as high beam assist, reverse automatic braking, proximity key with push-button start and a 5-inch LCD display.
Finally, for 2019, the all-new Abyss Blue Pearl exterior is available on select trims, as are Crimson Red Pearl and Tungsten Metallic.
2019 Subaru Outback: Most Affordable AWD in its Class
Known as the mid-size SUV alternative, the 2019 Outback continues with the same strong styling choices and functionality as last year. Well-suited to a starting price of $29,295, this is the choice for versatility and capability mated with incredible refinement.
As an ongoing winner of the ALG Midsize Utility Vehicle – 2 Row award for the eighth consecutive year, the 2019 Outback also delivers on the promise of high resale value as well as purchase value – Outback is the most affordable all-wheel drive intermediate SUV in Canada.
Built as a complement to Subaru’s legendary symmetrical full-time all-wheel drive, all trims come with X-MODE with Hill Descent Control for even more rugged capability over the toughest of roads. Standard equipment also includes Active Torque Vectoring, heated front seats, power driver’s seat, fog lights, 17-inch wheels and dual USB slots for rear passengers.
The Touring trim comes with 17-inch aluminum alloy wheels, an 8-inch infotainment system with dual USB port/iPod controls, Subaru Side/Rear Vehicle Detection system and power rear liftgate, power glass sunroof, auto-dimming rearview mirror and dual-zone auto climate control.
The Outback Limited trim adds 18-inch aluminum alloy wheels, 4-way power passenger seat, heated steering wheel and rear seats, 8-inch infotainment system with navigation and Harman Kardon 12-speaker system, and rear climate control vents.
