The cruise line that rivals Broadway

In a nondescript building in Miami, dancers kick the can-can, aerialists spin high in the air in rehearsals for an entertainment group that puts on more performances a year than New York’s Broadway and London’s West End combined.

Nick Weir, VP, Royal Caribbean entertainment division: “The reality is because we have so many theatres, 50 on 26 ships all over the globe, we have a nightly audience of about 100,000 people.”

“How many theatres are being built in London today? None. How many are being built in New York? None. In Vegas, some are closing. But the cruise industry is growing exponentially.”(The Associated Press)
