Heavy rain fell over the Ottawa and Gatineau region late this week swelling waterways already stretched to the limit.
The rainfall prompted officials from Ottawa to Montreal to warn that water levels may reach or even top highs recorded during last months floods.

The City of Ottawa, which has been under a state of emergency since April 25th, is telling residents to keep sandbag walls in place until further notice.
Ontario has activated a disaster recovery assistance program for residents in Bracebridge, Huntsville, Pembroke, Renfrew County, Ottawa, Clarence-Rockland, Champlain and Alfred and Plantagenet. (The Canadian Press)
