In 1890 Bombay, Mahadeo Havaji Bachche started a lunch delivery service with about a hundred men on bicycles to bring homemade lunches in tiffins (stackable aluminum lunch boxes) from home to office. More than a hundred years later 200,000 lunches are delivered in India every single day by the dabbawalas.
Today, Bombay Street Food is thrilled to announce their brand new Toronto-based lunch delivery service Tiffinwala!
Amreen and Seema Omar of BSF invite you to choose from a nostalgic menu of veg and non-veg Indian recipes passed down from their great-grandparents. Dishes change daily and the tiffin comes packed with delicious home-style food. Fresh, delicious and convenient, Tiffinwala is the oldest new lunch to hit the city’s streets.
·To celebrate the launch of Tiffinwala in Toronto, Bombay Street Food is giving away a JOURNEY TO INDIA with Brussels Airlines!
Every person that signs up for Tiffinwala will be eligible to win a round-trip ticket to India. Persons may sign up as individuals who work in the downtown core or they can also sign up in groups of 10 or more for delivery to their co-working space or office. https://www.bombaystreetfood.ca/tiffinwala-lunch-delivery-service/
