OTTAWA: The Canadian Council of Churches held its Annual General Meeting this week – with the discussion centred on the issue of making Canada a fairer and more equal place for everyone.
Attending the meeting was Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, Filomena Tassi, Member of Parliament for Hamilton West—Ancaster—Dundas and Minister of Labour, along with Jean-Yves Duclos, MP of Québec, President of the Treasury Board, Rob Oliphant, Member of Parliament for Don Valley West #DVW and Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Ahmed Hussen, Minister of Families, Children and Social Development.
The Canadian Council of Churches (CCC) is a broad and inclusive ecumenical body in Canada, representing 26 member churches ncluding Anglican; Eastern and Roman Catholic; Evangelical; Free Church; Eastern and Oriental Orthodox; and Historic Protestant traditions.
Together these member churches comprise 85% of the Christians in Canada. The CCC’s motto is ‘Christ, Community, Compassion!’
