KANATA: Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, along with Ahmed Hussen, Minister for Families, Children and Social Development, and Mayor of Ottawa Jim Watson visited Hope Living, the supportive housing residence in Kanata during the weekend, They announced that with funds through the federal government’s Rapid Housing Initiative, Shepherds of Good Hope will add 8 units to Hope Living (bringing the total to 100 units).
The money will also help build brand new supportive housing residence at 216 Murray St. which will house 48 people who are currently homeless.
This time next year, Shepherd of Good Hope says it will be providing permanent housing to more people than those who currently sleep in their emergency shelter.
