Whatever you’re busy with save time and money. Online orders of general merchandise picked up in under a minute with this new in-store feature Free service helps customers save time and money while enjoying Walmart’s low prices
MISSISSAUGA, ON (April 4, 2019) – Walmart Canada announced today the launch of Walmart Pickup Towers at its Heartland Supercentre. These high-tech, 16-foot-tall units issue a customer’s online, general merchandise order in under a minute, making it easier than ever for customers to pick up online purchases in-store.
Walmart is committed to providing customers with services that are constantly improving and growing, to ensure Canadians can shop when, where and how they want. This combination of high-tech, time-saving technology offers an easier way for busy families to pick up their online orders in-store.
Once an online order for general merchandise has been placed, customers have the option to select in-store pickup and can use the Pickup Towers to pick up their items in-store, bypassing customer service. To use these self-service kiosks, simply scan a barcode from the online order confirmation email or enter an order number once prompted on-screen. Within seconds, a compartment in the towers opens to display a conveyer belt that delivers items directly to the customer.
“Walmart is always looking for innovative approaches to help our customers save time and money and we’re constantly trying new things,” said Daryl Porter, vice president of omni-channel operations and online grocery, Walmart Canada. “We’re thrilled to launch the trial of Pickup Towers in-store at our Heartland Supercentre – another way we are using our stores to offer convenience and time saving options to our customers.”
Walmart is making every day a little easier for busy Canadian families. The Heartland Supercentre is the second location in Canada to launch the Pickup Towers, following a launch in Oakville last month. Purchases can be made through online shopping on walmart.ca.
