Moscow:  France and Denmark qualified for the round of 16 of the FIFA World Cup by playing out a 0-0 draw in a tepid Group C tie at the Luzhniki Stadium here on Tuesday.

France were already through to the knockout stages before the game while Denmark needed a point to be sure of their qualification.

Peru beat Australia 2-0 in the other Group C game but finished with only three points as Denmark ended on five and France bagged seven points from three matches.

Australia were consigned to the bottom of the group with just a point to show for.
